Welcome to Lynne Griffiths Wellbeing Therapy in Farnham, Surrey; Reflexology, Reiki and Massage for health, relaxation and renewal
I trained as a nurse at 18 years old and first came across complementary therapies when my patient had a Reiki session on the ward at the hospital I worked in London in the late 1980’s.
I have always felt mind, body and spirit are connected. Florence Nightingale recognised the need to create healing environments for not only patient’s bodies, but for their mind and spirit too. Maybe this is where my acceptance and inner knowing came from.
After nursing for many years I trained in Reiki therapy and volunteered at The Fountain Centre a Cancer Charity at The Royal Surrey Hospital. Working at The Fountain Centre really sealed my faith in therapies and I experienced my first Reflexology session there. I was hooked and trained to become a Reflexologist. I continued working as a nurse at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice and supported the complementary therapy work there too eventually running therapy groups. I moved back to The Fountain Centre in a paid role integrating therapies through working with the volunteer therapists and patients.
My recent Breast Cancer diagnosis has shown me how important these therapies are alongside medical intervention. Having a safe space, a healing touch and being listened to is so powerful.
Giving yourself the gift of ‘me time’ is precious and prioritising this time helps reduce stress and enhances your mood. I definitely found this to be true. I now intend to concentrate solely on my therapies and I’m excited to be starting training in Swedish massage in 2025.
My approach is very person-centred. Over the last few years, there has been a greater awareness and focus on health and wellbeing. More people are exploring holistic ways to support their health and wellbeing and have become much more open about how stress has impacted them.
As a Reflexologist and Reiki therapist, my role is to support your health and wellbeing. I understand your challenges, and your needs will be met with tailored treatments centred on you, your problems, and the solutions you are seeking.
I have treated many clients for sleep issues, fatigue, anxiety, grief, headaches, and pregnancy or menstrual cycle issues, as well as many other health conditions. I provide a safe space within a modern, light, and airy, spacious basement in my house.
Reiki and Reflexology are gentle treatments allowing you to relax and de-stress. These therapies provide time for you to relax and aid sleep, improving mood and feelings of better health and wellbeing. Reflexology focuses on reflex points in the feet and hands with gentle massage, allowing you to deeply relax and creating a sense of balance or ‘homeostasis’—a balanced state in the body and the mind.
During Reflexology, over 7,000 nerves in the feet are stimulated, encouraging the opening and clearing of neural pathways, helping the body to return to its natural rhythms.
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive hands-on therapy originally from Japan, now enjoyed worldwide. Energy channels called chakras are worked on throughout the body, promoting balance and relaxation. The practice is based on universal life force energy that flows through all living things, which can improve physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
My Reiki sessions involve a gentle touch or my hands hovering above your body, often causing a warm sensation, aiming to reduce stress and encourage relaxation. Reiki can target specific areas or the whole body, working on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.
I work with crystals and find their benefits incredible, as well as their natural beauty. I have completed two workshops on Crystal Reflexology Levels 1 and 2, and I am happy to incorporate crystal balancing into your Reiki or Reflexology sessions.
I also teach Reiki Levels 1 and 2, offering both weekend and weekday teaching sessions.
